Global and Chinese water cutting robot industry
Foreign waterjet cutting technology was produced around the 1960s. It was mainly used in soil erosion and mining.
In the late 1970s, the United States launched ultra-high-pressure waterjet cutting machines. At this time, waterjet cutting technology was trending towards high-pressure waterjet cutting. At present, among the foreign water cutting equipment companies, the more famous ones include Japan's Matsuno Machinery Company, the British Desith Company, and the American Flow Systms Company.
Among them, the CAD/CAM software system has been developed in the ultra-high-pressure water cutting CNC system produced by Flow Systms Company in the United States, which realizes the functions of automatic programming and processing operations of complex contours.
At present, foreign advanced technology mainly studies five-axis or six-axis water-jet CNC robot structure machine tools and offline automatic programming technology. Machine tools with this structure are mainly used for processing interior parts of small cars and have relatively powerful functions.
Foreign water cutting technology has developed relatively maturely. However, the development and research of water cutting technology in my country started relatively late, and it was not until the 1980s that special research began.
The first company in my country to invest in the development and application of water cutting machines was Nanjing Dadi Water Jet Co., Ltd. The company successfully developed the first water cutting machine in 1996, breaking the monopoly of a few foreign companies in the field of water cutting machines. This situation marks the beginning of the application of "water cutting" technology in my country .
In 2002, it successfully developed China’s first ultra-high-pressure water cutting waste ammunition destruction system, and in 2004, it successfully developed China’s first ultra-high-pressure space water cutting system .
At present, there are domestic companies specializing in the production of CNC high-pressure water jet cutting machine tools, such as Nanjing Dadi Water Jet, Zhejiang Lanyan Zhechen, Shanghai Weihong and other water jet cutting equipment companies.
In recent years, while domestic water cutting technology has absorbed the world's advanced water cutting technology, it has continued to innovate and strive to learn and develop new technologies and apply them to new fields. New technologies currently available or under development include:
(1) Water jet machining center. A waterjet CNC machine tool that integrates cutting, milling, grinding and other functions into one.
(2) "Waste and used ammunition destruction" water jet. Since water cutting is a cold cutting process, it is suitable for cutting flammable and explosive products without detonating the products, thus achieving the purpose of safely destroying expired or useless ammunition.
(3) Space curve cutting water jet (robot water jet, as shown in Figure 1.2). The robotic waterjet cutting system is now mainly used for cutting automobile interior parts. It can cut any spatial curve and has a relatively powerful function.
(4) Five-axis water jet. Although the problem of cutting slope can be solved by robotic waterjet machine tools, there is still a problem of accuracy and is not suitable for cutting products that require high precision. Therefore, in order to achieve no slope and high precision, five-axis linkage water jet cutting machine tools need to be studied.
(5) Application of newly developed CAM software in CNC water jet cutting machine tools. For waterjet CNC machine tools, it is necessary to compile special CNC machining G codes according to the waterjet processing technology to directly drive the movement of the machine tool axis. The CAM module automatically generates CNC processing codes based on given two-dimensional graphics and waterjet process parameters, effectively improving auxiliary design and cutting efficiency.
(6) Large multi-head high-precision water cutting machine tools.
