05116595 Gland nuts are specific components used in water jet booster pumps to hold high pressure seals or packing in place. Compression nuts are usually made of hard, wear-resistant materials, such as stainless steel, and are designed to withstand the high pressures and temperatures involved in waterjet cutting.
In water jet booster pumps, the gland nut is threaded onto the pump body and down onto the high pressure seal or packing. The seal, or packing, is compressed between the gland nut and the high-pressure cylinder, creating a seal that prevents water from leaking from the pump.
Over time, the gland nut can become worn or damaged due to high pressure water flow and constant tightening and loosening. This can cause leaks and pressure drop. When this happens, the gland nut may need to be replaced.
