A discharge poppet valve is a type of valve used in waterjet pumps to control the flow of water through the system. Specifically, this type of valve is responsible for regulating the flow of high-pressure water from the pump to the cutting head.

In a waterjet pump, water is pressurized to extremely high levels before being discharged through a nozzle to create a high-speed jet of water for cutting, cleaning, or other applications. The discharge poppet valve is located between the pump and the cutting head and is designed to control the pressure and flow rate of the water as it passes through.

The poppet valve typically consists of a spring-loaded piston or ball that is held in place by a seat. When water flows through the valve, it creates pressure on the piston or ball, which compresses the spring and opens the valve to allow water to flow through. When the pressure drops or the flow rate decreases, the spring pushes the piston or ball back into place, closing the valve and maintaining pressure in the system.
